Features

Stainless Steel Grades: 300 Series—Austenitic Chromium-Nickel Alloys

 
TP301 Highly ductile, for formed products. Also hardens rapidly during mechanical working. Good weldability. Better wear resistance and fatigue strength than 304.
 
TP302 Same corrosion resistance as 304, with slightly higher strength due to additional carbon.
 
TP303 Easier machining version of 304 via addition of sulfur and phosphorus. Also referred to as "A1" in accordance with International Organization for Standardization ISO 3506
 
TP304 The most common grade; the classic 18/8 stainless steel. Also referred to as "A2" in accordance with International Organization for Standardization ISO 3506.
 
TP309 Better temperature resistance than 304
 
TP309S a low carbon version of Type 309.TP309S minimizes carbide precipitation, and improves weldability
 
TP 310S a low carbon austenitic stainless steel. Known for its ability to withstand high temperature applications, TP310S, which is a lower carbon version of Type 310
 
TP316 The second most common grade (after 304); for food and surgical stainless steel uses; Alloy addition of molybdenum prevents specific forms of corrosion. Also known as "marine grade" stainless steel due to its increased resistance to chloride corrosion compared to type 304. SS316 is often used for building nuclear reprocessing plants. Most watches that are made of stainless steel are made of this grade. Rolex is an exception in that they use Type 904L. 18/10 stainless often corresponds to this grade. Also referred to as "A4" in accordance with International Organization for Standardization ISO 3506.
 
TP317L a low carbon austenitic stainless steel version of Type 317 that offers improved corrosion resistance over Type 304/304L. 
 
TP321 Similar to 304 but lower risk of weld decay due to addition of titanium. See also 347 with addition of niobium for desensitization during welding.
 
TP321H a titanium stabilized austenitic stainless steel that is known for its general corrosion resistance
 
TP 347H a high carbon austenitic chromium stainless steel. Found in applications that demand high temperature resistance
 
Stainless Steel Grades: 400 Series—Ferritic and Martensitic Chromium Alloys
 
TP408 heat-resistant; poor corrosion resistance; 11% Chromium, 8% Nickel.
 
TP409 a Ferritic steel, known mostly for its excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance qualities, and its excellent fabricating characteristics, which allow it to be formed and cut easily. It has decent tensile strength and is readily welded by arc welding as well as being adaptable to resistance spot and seam welding
 
TP410 a hardenable martensitic stainless steel alloy that is magnetic in both annealed and hardened conditions,high levels of strength and wear resistance,ability to be heat-treated,good corrosion resistance in most environments including water and some chemicals.
 
TP416 a popular, highly machinable and lower cost martensitic free machining stainless steel,resistance to fresh water, acids, alkalis, and air;less resistance to corrosion than austenitic steels,the highest level of machinability of all stainless steels.
 
TP420 "Cutlery Grade" martensitic; similar to the Brearley's original "rustless steel". Also known as "surgical steel". Excellent polishability.
 
TP430 the most popular non-hardenable ferritic stainless steel available,good corrosion, heat, oxidation resistance, and its decorative nature.
 
TP440 a higher grade of cutlery steel, with more carbon in it, which allows for much better edge retention when the steel is heat treated properly. It can be hardened to Rockwell 58 hardness, making it one of the hardest stainless steels. Also known as "razor blade steel". Available in three grades 440A, 440B, 440C (more common) and 440F (free machinable).
 
Stainless Steel Grades: 600 Series—Martensitics Precipitation Hardening Alloys
 
TP630  most common PH stainless, better known as 17-4; 17% Chromium, 4% Nickel.a martensitic stainless steel that offers superior corrosion resistance. It is magnetic, readily welded, and has good fabricating characteristics, though it will lose some toughness at higher temperatures. It is known for its resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, and is used in a wide variety of industries and applications.
 
17-4 PH, also known as UNS S17400, is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel. 17-4 PH is popular with our customers due to its excellent combination of good corrosion resistance and high strength.
 
Alloy 660 a precipitation hardening austenitic stainless steel known for its impressive strength at high temperatures up to 700°C. Also sold under the names, UNS S66286, and A-286 alloy, Alloy 660 gains its strength from a high degree of uniformity. It has an impressive yield strength minimum of 105,000 psi and is commonly used in high temperature fastening and bolting materials. 
 
Stainless Steel Grades: Duplex Series
UNS S32205 a nitrogen-enhanced stainless steel,its excellent corrosion resistance along with its high strength,much higher levels of corrosion resistance than most other austenitic stainless steels. 
 
Duplex 2304, also called Alloy 2304,a molybdenum-free duplex stainless steel. It has a structure that is a balance of ferritic and austenitic,used as a replacement for Alloys 304L and 316L. 
 
UNS S2507 super duplex stainless steel,used in situations where exceptional strength and corrosion resistance are in demand.
