1. Field of application |

|
|
1.1 This standard applies to general purpose seamless circular tubes and pipes (hereinaiter briefly referred to as tubes) made from the Stainless steel pipe listed in table 1. They are used. for example as construction tubing, a pipes for the fodd. pharmaceutical and automobile inoustries. and as pipes for domestic installation nd for decorative purposes. |

Tubes conformming to ilre lequirernents o this stardard are intanded to be used on the basic of an 80% utilization of the permissble design stress in weld. |

|
1.2 This standard does not apply to general purpose welded circular austenitic stainless steel tubes subject to special requiremnets (see DIN 17458). |
